I love my neighborhood, Cleveland Park…it’s got everything I need. Good restaurants, beautiful places to walk and visit, little shops, great bars, easy access to the metro — and all just minutes from my front door.
The weather has been so nice lately that I’ve been wandering around, taking lots of pics of the area — and I thought I’d share them with you…
Let’s pretend you’re arriving by metro…you’ll take the Red Line to Cleveland Park. (And fingers crossed there are no single-tracking delays…the Red Line is a little infamous that way…)

Coming out of the Metro, you’ll find yourself on Connecticut Avenue…

On the west side is Sam’s Park and Shop. It’s supposedly one of the first strip malls in the country — for me, though, this sign is the landmark I always look for when my flights are coming in for a landing…it means I’m almost home…
Cleveland Park has some GREAT restaurants. Just posting this is making me hungry…if you’re in the area, you can’t go wrong at Palena, Medium Rare, or Alero. (Now I’m thirsty, too — margaritas, anyone?)

One of my favorite spots is the roofdeck at the Cleveland Park Bar and Grill…

But my true “Cheers” is the 4Ps — now called “Ireland’s Four Fields.” It has seen me through many good times and is a great place to ride out a blizzard or two…
Heading down the street, we’ll cross the bridge and hit the National Zoo…

And then on the way back home, we’ll pass another favorite spot — Ripple — as well as my go-to pizza place, Vace.

There are still more restaurants and bars — too many to get into here…I’ll just have to do a Part 2 someday…
Cleveland Park is also home to a great, old-school movie theater, the Uptown. I love the Art Deco facade….
Until next time….
